Okay, so I have finally decided to delete my MySpace.  I think I held onto it this long out of nostalgia more than anything.  Like maybe if could help me find new bands or whatever.  But the honest truth is, I just go on, see if I have friend requests (all of which I basically accept without looking at anymore) or if I have any messages (all of which I delete without looking at anymore).  Yeah I know MySpace is trying to revamp itself, but let’s be honest people, Facebook is where it’s at and who knows what the next social network of the minute will be.

Anyways, while I was going through it, trying to decide if there was anything that would make the page worth keeping, I read through my blog posts and came across the post I made about my first (and only) Warped Tour date I attended. Granted this was back in June 2009, but it really was one of the best days of my life.  So I decided to re-post it here, so those memories and how I felt in the moment when I wrote it wouldn’t be lost.  I’ve also included some of the pics from that day.  It has been edited slightly for this particular post but really nothing has changed.  Enjoy:

“Oh my god, I can’t even describe the ecstasy I am experiencing. This day was so awesome. One amazing event after another.

My sister and I got into Pomona a little before 9 AM. Go figure they were not letting any cars in the gates until like 9 AM. So we had to drive around a little until we were let in. Sat in line forever before we got in. However we were some of the first people in so we were not too far back in the line when we had to stand and wait to get in the venue gates at 11 AM. We made two new friends in line: Stephanie and Sarah. They were awesome chicks. While waiting in line a lot of bands came by to promote themselves and sell EPs/CDs. One of which I bought because Nate from Sing It Loud was so persuasive, and my new crush. 😛 P.S. I spent $19 before we even got into the venue. $9 on parking and $10 on the Sing It Loud CD. Took pics with Kennedy and Jared from The Maine too while in line and just entering the venue.

So we get in and the first thing I notice are some chicks holding signs that say “Attack Attack @ 11:15 on Skullcandy Stage” Let me tell you, I hauled ass over there. They were the main reason I went to Warped and go figure they’re the first band to play. Good set. So excited I finally got to see them live. After their set we go and find my sister’s friends who are in a band and played today. Good for them and they did really well too. But before we saw them we saw A Rocket To The Moon. People in the audience were pissing me off but the set was awesome! So glad I finally got to see them too. (If you haven’t caught on, it was a lot of firsts for me at Warped, it also being my first time to Warped Tour).

Josh from Umbrella Clothing

After seeing ARTTM and my sister’s frineds we had a little down time so we wandered. Now I can’t remember if it was before or after ARTTM but I made my way over to the Umbrella Clothing tent and introduced myself to the guy who owns the company, Josh . Only spoke to him for a second but he was really chill and I was excited that I was able to meet him. Okay, so things are going to start running together now since Sabrina and I ran back and forth across the venue like 5000 times.

But we also took pics with some of the members of Attack Attack.  Caught part of Sing It Loud’s set. I decided to skip Escape The Fate because the douchebages on the other stage wouldn’t get off and the crowd was just pissing me off. Throughout the day my sister and I went through 4 bottles of water, which is where 1/5 of my money went. We also got to go to Sing It Loud’s signing. Got a free poster and had them sign my CD. ❤ ❤ ❤

We saw Breathe Carolina. A much better set this time around since the sound actually worked. Whoever was running it at Bamboozle Left failed epically at their jobs. This time = awesomeness. Oh before the set we did run into both Dave and Kyle. Really sweet amazing guys. While we were looking for Kyle I was actually looking for the Revert Fashion tent (It took over 2 hours. Could not find it to save my life). Well we decided to sit for a little bit. And while we were I saw Jaxin Hall from Of Mice & Men. Got a pic. He was really surprised to hear that I was looking forward to meeting him and that I had kept my eyes open to be sure I didn’t miss him. Before that I ran into T.Mills who is much taller than I realized and earlier in the day…I can’t believe I forgot to say this…ran into my future husband, Austin Carlile. He’s such a sweetheart.

T. Mills

Basically, all day my sister and I kept running into awesome people left and right and seeing sweet ass bands. After Breathe Carolina we saw 3OH!3. By this point I had developed a migrane and it was getting pretty bad. I wanted to throw up, no joke. But I waited with her in line to see BC in a signing. She got a poster and we said goodbye. A couple of tents over Josh was chillin’ with a friend. I asked if I could get a photo and his friend was like “Hey man if you’re going to be famous don’t sit in my tent!” LOL. It’s because I just wanted to get the pic and not buy anything from that dude’s tent. Oh well, I don’t care. Haha. So we spoke for a few minutes and he’s going to be on Warped all summer, so if you’re going swing by the Umbrella Clothing tent. He’s super chill and nice. I’m so stoked I met him.

Then we said goodbye to my sister’s friends and we left. Unfortunately, my illness caused us to miss Senses Fail and The Maine. I’m mad about the latter, but my sister wasn’t too upset because she knew I was sick and has already seen both bands (thanks again for bailing early because of me!!!).

I’m sure there are other things I’ve left out, but oh well. Morel of the story: WARPED TOUR IS THE SHIT AND I HAD THE MOST AMAZING DAY OF MY LIFE!!! I spent almost $100 on parking, 4 water bottles, 3 CDs, 2 shirts, 1 Powerade, and 1 poster (which was free FYI). Oh and I did get a phone number, but I won’t say who’s. That’s for me to know and be amazed at. Because I wasn’t even looking to get it, it was just offered to me. Good to know people and make connections.

Also be on the look out for some new pics. I should have them up in the next few days.

Now I have the Boys Like Girls concert next Wed to look forward to.”

So yeah, that was my Warped experience. I can’t believe I haven’t been able to go the last two years but a lack of funds scheduling conflicts didn’t really allow things to work out. I’m hoping things work out for Summer 2012. We’ll see. Anyways, moral of the story, find what inspires you and hold on tight because there are some days when I really question whether or not being involved with music is right for me, I then reflect on days like my Warped trip, and realize why I got involved with music in the first place. Ah! Such good times. I can’t wait for more!!!
